About Tanglewood Learning Center

Tanglewood Learning Center is a family-run preschool in the New Port Richey/Trinity area, where we care for kids from 6 weeks to 9 years old. We’re all about creating a safe, loving space where children can explore, learn, and grow during these key early years. Our goal is simple: provide top-notch childcare and education while making sure kids have a blast along the way.

At Tanglewood, we use a creative curriculum that gives teachers a fun theme to build on, sparking excitement for kids of all ages. We blend art, music, physical activities, hands-on learning, and outdoor play to make every day an adventure.

Lead Teacher (Infant & Toddler Roles Available)

Position: Lead Teacher (Infant & Toddler Age)
Location: Tanglewood Learning Center
Reports To: Program Coordinator

Overview:
Tanglewood Learning Center is seeking passionate and dedicated Lead Teachers for our Infant, Toddler, and Afterschool programs. As a Lead Teacher, you will play an essential role in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. You will work closely with a supportive team to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum while fostering strong relationships with children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

🌱Supervise children in the classroom at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.

🌱Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the individual needs of each child, focusing on learning through play.

🌱Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to review and make important decisions regarding the curriculum and classroom operations.

🌱Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, ensuring all materials are age-appropriate and ready for use.

Qualifications:

School-Age Coordinator

Position: School-Age Coordinator
Location: Tanglewood Learning Center
Reports To: Executive Director & Director of Child Care Services

Overview:
The School-Age Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development, and operation of a high-quality School-Age Program at Tanglewood Learning Center. This role ensures that the program contributes to the growth and development of children while providing guidance, supervision, and evaluation of staff members. The School-Age Coordinator is also responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for children, facilitating their development through planned activities, and ensuring ongoing communication with parents, school personnel, and the community.


Key Responsibilities:

Program Management & Staff Oversight

🌱Participate in interviewing and selecting staff members for the School-Age Program, alongside the Personnel Director.

🌱Supervise and evaluate both paid and volunteer School-Age staff, ensuring alignment with program goals and standards.

🌱Develop and implement ongoing in-service training programs for staff.

🌱Assist in assigning and scheduling staff to ensure appropriate coverage and smooth operation of the program.

🌱Plan and conduct regular meetings to address concerns, share updates, and foster collaboration.

🌱Lead classroom staff meetings to ensure consistency in program delivery and address staff needs.

🌱Create and execute a variety of group activities that contribute to the care, growth, and development of children in the program.

🌱Make recommendations regarding the appropriate placement of children into groups based on age, temperament, and ability.

🌱Ensure the School-Age Program aligns with state and local regulations for safety, cleanliness, and developmental appropriateness.

Classroom & Child Supervision

🌱Oversee the daily operation of School-Age classrooms, ensuring they are conducive to optimal growth and development.

🌱Monitor the physical environment of the classrooms, ensuring safety and cleanliness at all times.

🌱Teach groups of children as required, ensuring educational and recreational activities are well-organized and appropriate.

🌱Supervise and maintain records for the School-Age Program, including attendance, developmental progress, and parent-teacher conference summaries.

🌱Evaluate each child's progress and provide feedback to parents, encouraging active involvement in the program.

🌱Coordinate transportation for children as needed.

Communication & Parent Engagement

🌱Maintain regular and positive communication with parents, including scheduling individual conferences to discuss each child’s development.

🌱Keep parents informed about daily activities, their child’s progress, and any significant incidents or changes.

🌱Ensure that all written communication is reviewed by the leadership team and that verbal communication is clear and professional.

🌱Follow established procedures for reporting incidents, accidents, and illnesses to parents and relevant personnel.

Team Leadership & Community Relations

🌱Develop a professional, collaborative, and supportive environment among staff, fostering positive teamwork and professional growth.

🌱Establish and maintain positive relationships with local schools, private/public school personnel, and community members.

🌱Participate in team meetings, offering insights and suggestions for improvements in program delivery and staff training.

🌱Act as a role model for other staff members by demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

Health, Safety, & Hygiene

🌱Ensure that health and safety guidelines are adhered to, including proper handwashing, sanitation practices, and safety rules.

🌱Enforce safety procedures in the classroom and during field trips or outdoor activities.

🌱Maintain confidentiality regarding children’s personal information and development.

Policies, Professionalism, and Procedures

🌱Take responsibility for maintaining a clean and organized environment, including storage areas and common spaces.

🌱Consistently model health and safety procedures and communicate these practices to both staff and children.

🌱Ensure that all children are supervised at all times and that all areas are kept safe and conducive to play and learning.
