We are a Creative Curriculum-based learning center in New Port Richey Florida. We care for children from 6 weeks to 9 years and provide a range of age-appropriate resources and activities to encourage their development right up until they are ready and prepared to join school.

As a State-of-the-Art Preparatory Preschool, our vision is to educate the whole child. We strive for this goal daily through age-specific, quality curriculum, fun learning activities, and age-appropriate responses to teachable moments.

Merging Teaching and Childcare
At Tanglewood Learning Center, we provide a comprehensive range of programs tailored to support children at every stage of early development. Including specialized daycare services for infants and toddlers that foster growth and early learning. For preschool-aged children, we build a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, and social skills, while our Voluntary Prekindergarten program prepares them for the transition to formal schooling.
We believe that it’s never too early to start learning and that it’s vital to always present opportunities for children to learn and grow as soon as they start at our center.
We also offer an engaging Afterschool program that includes enrichment activities and homework assistance, ensuring continued support beyond the school day. Additionally, we accept Early Learning Coalition (ELC) funding, including School Readiness, making our high-quality education accessible to a wider range of families.
By developing our programs with curriculum experts and childcare specialists, we’ve been able to hone in on what makes early education a success and created a learning program that allows our children to enter school seamlessly.

Owner/VP
Elma is an accomplished entrepreneur and business owner with a strong background in early childhood education. She holds both National and Florida Directors Credentials and has a degree in Healthcare and Administration Management. Her journey began with a simple dream: to create a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for young children. This led her to acquire childcare centers where many children have started their learning journeys.
As the owner of Tanglewood Learning Center, Elma has seen the positive impact of quality early education. Every day, she watches children light up with joy as they explore and learn new skills. She also sees parents relieved and confident, knowing their children are in a supportive environment.
These experiences have only strengthened her commitment to making sure every child has access to excellent early education, regardless of their background. Elma’s goal is to ensure that all children in the community have the opportunities they need to succeed.

As the Director of a preschool, I bring a wealth of experience and a deep passion for early childhood education. With a strong foundation in child development and over 20 years of hands-on experience in the field, I have successfully led a dedicated team of educators in creating a nurturing and dynamic learning environment for over three years. My role encompasses overseeing curriculum development, ensuring compliance with educational standards, and fostering strong partnerships with parents and the community.
As a mother of six and a grandmother of two, I understand the unique challenges and joys that come with raising and nurturing young children. This personal experience, combined with my professional expertise, allows me to approach my role with empathy, dedication, and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence where each child’s unique abilities are recognized and nurtured, laying the groundwork for lifelong learning and success.

My name is Megan, and my journey in the childcare field spans over 15 fulfilling years. This career has been more than just a job for me; it’s been a lifelong passion. I hold both my Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and my Director Credential, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to excel in various roles within the industry.
Outside of my professional life, I am a proud mother of two boys who are my world. They bring immense joy, laughter, and perspective into my life, reminding me daily of the importance of nurturing and supporting young minds.
My journey in childcare has been more than just a career; it has been a profound and fulfilling part of my identity. The relationships I’ve built with the children, their families, and my colleagues have been central to my growth and happiness.
Witnessing the children’s development and knowing that I have played a role in their early years is a source of immense pride and joy. As I continue to grow in my role as Assistant Director, I remain committed to my mission of supporting and inspiring both the children and the educators I work with.
